We are the world’s first commercial in-orbit satellite inspection company. Our technology helps defence, governments, and commercial operators to visually monitor their spacecraft and other space objects. Our software transforms Earth observation satellites into in-orbit inspection cameras and generates valuable near real-time data. Our goal is to empower our customers to have satellite insights at their fingertips.

About the role:

HEO Robotics is looking for an experienced and talented Software Developer passionate about working in space tech to join our team.

As a software developer, you’ll ensure we’re providing the best platform experience for our customers. You will be required to build new and improve existing software with scalability and security in mind. You will play a critical role in building simulation and visualisation tools which directly support our future operations beyond Earth orbit.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Develop software to simulate space missions (primarily in Python)
  • Develop software with scale and security in mind
  • Build visualisation tools to evaluate performance of our camera systems
  • Support embedded software development
  • Participate in solution design meetings and code reviews
  • Collaborate with other teams across HEO Robotics to propose and contribute to new product features.

About you, we'd love for you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer engineering, Computer Science, IT or similar field
  • 3+ years industry experience
  • Strong communication and documentation skills to help shape or technical direction
  • Experience in building complex simulations
  • Experience with image processing
  • Experience in developing tools for cloud infrastructure
  • Unit testing skills
  • Experience in optimisation techniques for multivariable systems
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Python
    • C/C++
    • OpenCV and other image processing libraries
    • Git
  • Some experience in graphic softwares such as Blender
  • Some experience in cloud services

Previous work experience in aerospace and robotics sectors, and some experience in data analytics are considered a plus.
