About the role:

HEO Robotics is looking for an experienced and talented Hardware Engineer passionate about working in space technology to join our team.

As a Hardware Engineer, you’ll ensure we’re developing and deploying high performing imaging systems in space. We are currently developing our Holmes and Holmes+ cameras which will be deployed in low Earth orbit and you will be playing a critical role in designing, project managing, testing, and integrating our payloads on spacecraft platforms.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Help design next-generation products including HEO Optical Payloads and HEO Spacecraft
  • Oversee seamless integration of HEO optical payloads on third-party spacecraft platforms
  • Improve and modify existing designs to accommodate a broad range of missions
  • Inject your own innovations to make our products smarter and more efficient
  • Resolve and analyse manufacturing discrepancies, while interfacing with our partners (resolving issues for design, fabrication and assembly)
  • Execute design for manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency
  • Participate in design reviews internally and with suppliers and customers
  • Collaborate with all HEO Robotics teams to generate ideas, designs, and improvements for current and next-generation products (software and hardware)

About you, we'd love for you to have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in the field of aerospace/mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Technical expertise in mechanical CAD
  • Solid knowledge in Finite Element Analysis
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Solid project management skills
  • Experience in spacecraft design/optical payload design
  • Experience in leading embedded systems development
  • Experience in developing interface documents for the industry
  • Proficiency in:
    • Fusion 360 or similar
    • Python
